Image acquisition outline
- Position patient in head coil as for a routine Brain exam.
- Inject 15 ml of Gadolinium I.V.
- Acquire a standard 3 plane Brain scout sequence.
- Position Trigeminal Sequence with the bottom of the Slab at the base of the Skull. Be sure to adjust for head tilt. This should give you adequate coverage to see the 5 th Cranial Nerve.
- Post Processing can be done in the MPR (multi planar reconstruction) mode specific to the scanner being used. Reconstructing the transverse images in sagittal and coronal planes, will help in evaluating nerve and vessel placement.
